We started off our trip with a visit to a cult favorite of sushi lovers- Daisan Harumi. This tiny 8-seater (and 1 table) restaurant is known for its top quality fish and eccentric chef/owner Kazuo Nagayama, who in addition to preparing wonderful sushi also dabbles in book writing, ceramic design, and seaweed harvesting.

A Life Less Garlicky
Two food ingredients that both of us love are pork and garlic, especially garlic. I once made a cream of garlic soup, just because we both enjoyed the smell and taste of this bulbous herb that much. But, three months into the pregnancy, G has developed an aversion to both items. The pork isn’t so bad, she’ll just remove it from the dish (but will eat bacon, nature’s miracle meat). Sadly though, she can no longer stand the smell or taste of garlic. Even a little bit will induce nausea.
Does this count as a craving?
I’ve always liked this flavor of Kettle Chips but lately I seem to be able to finish half a pack very easily. One afternoon, I had no appetite so I ate an entire pack for my lunch.
Unfortunately, I can’t justify this craving with the health benefits of sea salt because apparently, it is as healthy or unhealthy as table salt.
